I am not sure about any scholarships or grants for pacers but here is a great website to search for college money. fastweb.com It has all sorts of scholarships listed. Good luck to your son.

When I was in college I was totally spaced. Not much help. Sorry. Student loans saved the day.

i don't know where you reside , but NY provides grants for people with disabilities, i couldn't even say if a pacemaker would count as disabilty. anyway, it's called VESID-vocational and educational services for individuals with disabilities.
the good thing about it...you can apply at any age

I second that

Totally spaced, I was in college as well. I'm amazed that I managed to retain anything at all, and I was so glad to finally get those loans paid off.

Just an idea: But maybe try the American Heart Association. They might be able to help steer you in the right direction.

Good luck,
Mike

Grants

Look for a Vocational Rehab in your area. I went to college and was able to get a couple small grants and it lasted for the 4 years of college. I believe I got the grants more for my knee than for my heart, but it's worth a shot. If you do have a branch in your state, they will ask you to come in for an interview and then they go from there depending on the severity of your case. That's about all I can think of. Good luck!!!

Cheers:)

The others have all given you good advice. Check not only the American Heart Assn; contact the schools you are interested in and ask directly if they have any special grants/scholarships for someone like you. Also the manufacturer of your specific PM. Excellent question! I have been on this forum for almost 3 years and this is the first time I recall seeing this asked! Good luck....please let us know what you find out. God bless you!
