I am now six weeks out from my PM implant, and although I still am trying to regain my strength and controlling my anxiety problems, I am feeling better. This room has been a godsend for me. Thanks to all of you for your messages and comments. They are a tremendous help to me.

I wrote it yesterday about Give yourself some time. Pacers are great but not an instant cure as the Drs. think. It took me a good year and 1/2 to get back to normal. The anxiety is still there a bit but gets better every day. Somedays i don't even think about the pacer. I think after another good year I will forget it completely. Except at check up time. Getting Better

You are on your way! I am so glad you are feeling stronger and more relaxed. It will continue to get better as time passes and you live with your PM. Continue to ask questions and seek reassurance when you need it. That is what this site is for.

Hey, Sharon. Welcome to the Club and to the world of pacers. I hope, by now, that your swelling is going down
and you getting greater arm mobility. I had to wear the sling for the first six weeks, getting out of it for an hour or so at a time after the first three weeks. I didn't
experience anxiety; I was so greatful to have a pm making sure my heart was beating regularly. I had
bradycardia and my pulse was dropping to 38-40 bpm.
Scary.Rest assured that the pacer is doing its job.
Hope you're sleeping well. I was hardly sleeping
before the op. because I was anxious, afraid my
heart would stop beating during the night. But I don't
have to worry about that anymore because of
the steady pacing of the pm. Keep us posted about
your progress. I bet you're going to be feeling
better each day. That's what happened to me
