Musician Question

4 weeks out from getting my Pacemaker put in.  Doing well and trying to adapt.  Question on interferences.  I am a musician and play digital piano, keyboards and electric guitar.  I've read that I should be able to wear headphones as long as I don't lay them around my neck when I'm not using them.  Is that correct?

I have not played any of my powered instruments since getting it.  Should it be OK to play electric keyboards and use amps and speakers?  During my checkup I asked the Pacemaker Tech and he said: "well it probably is OK but just try it out and see if you feel funny"......   Not exactly the answer I was lookinhg for.  Just wondering are there any folks out here with a device that use and electric instruments and play in front of amps and monitor speakers.

I appreciate any advice you can provide....

Thanks,

Mark

Glad to hear you're feeling well with your implant, Mark. I use amps and play electric guitar regularly, and stand next to speakers (not huge speakers, just home studio-type) with no problem.  Adhering to the "6-inch rule" should alleviate any concerns you may have about enjoying any of this equipment.  Keep on rockin.

Headphones

Headphones are the only thing in that list that could possibly cause problems.  The better the headphone, the more likely it'll be a problem (rare earth magnets) but keeping them 6" or more from your PM should be enough.  If you feel anything odd just move them.

Thanks for the info!  Yeah, I've got a really nice pair of studio headphones.  I will try them out and just keep them on my ears.....  LOL.  Hopefully no interference problems.

doctors said no problem

Being a singer, I asked doctor about the speakers and on stage material

He said no pb

But better keep the 6inch.

but watch for the headphone wires trailing down & reaching over your device…

You know you're wired when...

You prefer rechargeable batteries.
