Collagen pepties could cause arrhythmia issues

I am not sure if anyone has had a similiar experience but i started taking collagen pepties for help with workouts and health but soon noticed that i was getting some palpitations during workouts, routine checkup also confirmed that since i started taking collagen pepties my pacemaker had to do a lot of pacing.

I googled a lot on this topic and found some folks reviews on the products with similiar experience. doctor did say that due to the high levels of calcium in collagen peptides it could cause the heart to act abnormally.

Just wanted to throw this out there if someone is experiencing unsual behavior with their ICD - you might want to try removing collagen peptides supplement from your diet. It might also be the same for bone broth supplements etc.

Since i have been off it i feel much normal now. Cheers

Questioning this connection, too…

by WiredEntropy - 2023-09-18 14:06:41

I started having PVCs about 4 weeks ago (4% burden by 72 hour holter), but I'm not sure what started them. I had COVID about 3 weeks before that, and have some lingering symptoms, so figured it was probably related to that, but another thought I had was that the only other change I've made was starting collagen peptides, about 2-3 months earlier. Found your comment on this forum, and will report back if discontinuing the peptides makes the ectopy resolve. Not many people reporting this connection, so will be interesting if I can add another data point.

Hope you are still free of your palpitations, now over 2 years after your original post!
