whooshes

I had wondered about those whooshes, i could get them very occasionaly mostly when sitting in front of the computer.  Feels like a pool of blood rushing in my head just a few sceonds .  When i was at the Vascular Dr. the other day asked him.  He said hypertenion might be the cause.

I also would get gas balls that made me feel like the end was near.  Now i take a couple of Beano's before and after i eat.  That seems to have been working for me.

hypertension

Is your question about hypotension or hypertension?  If you have hypertension, is it adequately controlled through medication?  Also, can you change up your diet so Beanos aren't required as much?

Hi New - I think I now understand that your message may have been in response to some discussion with regard to your earlier heart rate monitoring question... I agree with Gemita that a new thread could be started with some background info and questions for the group.

Unfortuantely am mostly a vegetarian and  the veggies  that give me gas are brocolli, cabbage, brussle sprouts, cauliflower.. Along with fruit sugars give off a gas.  Also am lactose intolerant  take Lactose tablets so i can eat mushrooms.  Whiich i did not know has the lactose sugar in them. Legumes(beans), wheat and almonds put me to sleep.

My blood presure is  good thank goodness.

Yes started this new thread as was suggested.

Thanks for the info

I had to get away from the artificial fruit sugars (no more breath mints, no more diet soda, no more some of the common condiments).  I was not aware of the mushroom issue, etc. Nuts are a great source of protein and fiber, but I hear where you're coming from.  I will check this out some more.  Thanks again for this heads up.

start a new thread?

New - I still think you should consider starting a new thread that specifically states your question and asks for feedback.  I think that would be the best way forward to get answers to your questions.  For instance, I didn't understand what was meant by the subject line of your post until I went back to an earlier thread.  Maybe a little more explanation and background would help people here understand what your question is and they could respond appropriately.

Whooshing and other symptoms during an arrhythmia

by Gemita - 2021-07-26 11:42:01

Persephone and new to pace

I believe the member I was in communication with will be generating a new message in due course on the subject of symptoms with arrhythmias when she is well rested from her present bout.  We can all join the conversation again then, if you both wish?

In answer new to pace on cause for whooshing sound and feeling like a pool of blood is rushing to your head, this is how I first experienced my arrhythmias.  I believe your vascular consultant is correct, my sudden atrial tachy arrhythmia started with this very same symptom due to both a simultaneous surge in my blood pressure and heart rate, so rapid and strong that it caused facial flushing and a TIA (transient ischaemic attack) like feeling.  I passed out briefly multiple times with this symptom which was truly frightening.  Hopefully this symptom can be controlled by your medication new to pace because for me it was an indication that my arrhythmia was not being well controlled.  I wasn't on any anticoagulation either at the time so I was definitely at risk.  Just watch it and if symptom continues maybe get additional monitoring to check how high your blood pressure/heart rate is during these symptoms.  Keep diary notes when you get these symptoms to correlate them with any arrhythmia.  We have to take care of each other.

Of course there are other possible reasons for this symptom.  I also used to experience something similar during a severe migraine headache.  I thought my head would split

Thanks Gemita will keep a watchful eye if  again. Guess this means i should invest in a blood pressure cuff.  Have not felt any racing heart beats yet.

Of course will join in when Marybird posts her statements.
