Theraputic Physiotherapy

Is theraputic ultrasound treatment safe for pacemaker devices please?.

I have a sore knee and will be going for private physio and this treatment will probably be beneficial but not sure if it's safe.

If you ever have any doubts, the general rule is to keep the appliance 6 inches away from the pacemaker. Physio therapy on your knee will be fine.

Just so you know, I have broken the 6-inch rule many, many times in the ten years I've had a pacemaker with no ill effects either to me or the pacemaker.

The best answer for this question is, ''Ask your EP.". I doubt that it would be a problem on your knee but this is the sort of thing you pay you EP for.
