movement

What has been your doc's advice about moving your shoulder itself in the early days after implantation? Can you shrug, eg?

Movement

Hi SueA - I hope you're feeling well after your surgery.  Yes, shrugging the shoulder should be fine - movement is good, within the restrictions you were provided, which are likely to be mostly avoiding raising the PM-side arm above shoulder height for a certain number of days and not lifting anything above a certain weight for a given amount of time.  Try to follow those guidelines you were provided.  Keeping that shoulder joint mobile is important, and if you're able, light exercise (walking or doing not-overly-strenuous household or yard tasks) can help you in your progression toward healing.  Best wishes to you in your recovery.

Don't raise the elbow higher than shoulder height, don't lift anything heavy. Other than that, try to use the arm normally so the shoulder doesn't get frozen.
