So my son has an extra atrial lead that the docs are saying needs extraction due to a couple of inappropriate shocks. Question-has anyone had this done? Where was it done and who would be the top doc to do it? Son is 31y/o and pretty healthy otherwise! Thanks in advance.

You want a doctor that has done a lot of extractions. Research the doctors. When I needed an extraction my wife did the research. The #1 hospital for heart problems in the USA is the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Dr Bruce Wilkoff has done thousands. He even holds the patents on several pieces of equipment.

I had my extractions done at Brigham Women's hospital in Boston Mass. They do may extractions. I use Dr. Lawrence M. Epstein.

Lead extraction

I'm 61, had a lead extraction done in 2017 by Dr Vijay Swarup in Phoenix Az at the Heart Hospital/ Athena now I believe.
Dr Swarup does many of these procedures, it is more difficult than having leads put in. They use a sheath laser to extract the defective leads. A thoracic surgeon is on stand by.
i would recall Dr Swarup.
