I just got home from having an echo and the tech said that one of my leads had pireced through the tricuspid valve and was causing it to bleed. Has anyone had this happen to them? Does anyone know what they might do about it? I have been have chest pressure and shortness of breath walking sometimes from one room to the other.I have had my PM for 9 months. Would appreciate any help!
Thanks,
Amy

Amy, call your doctor or ep right away. Especially if you are on Coumadin. aldeer
ask for x-ray

perhaps the docs will x-ray your chest to see the location of the lead inside your heart. if your hospital guys can't figure it out, ask to go to major hospital where they work on pacemakers every day and see everything.
good luck. keep us up-to-date on your findings.

I didn't even think to ask. I was having the echo because they are considering mitral valve replacement and they were checking to see it the regurgation had increased. That would have been a good question!

You know you're wired when...
You have a $50,000 chest.

Call your doctor!

I would suggest calling your doctor or EP and ask about the test results as soon as you can. Keep notes of your symptoms and activity level so you can relay that information.
I have no idea what they will do, but it seems to me they should look at it further!
Good luck! Please let us know what you hear from your doc's!
