Palpatations/PVCs

It is after midnight and I have been experienceing skipped beats and pauses (pvcs I guess) since 9:30. They scare the crap out of me when they are severe. When I get them this bad they are accompanied by bloating, burping and gas. When you tell the Doctors this they seem to think it is not inportant but there is some kind of connection. It has been a stressful day and I was at the local coffee shop listening to live music. I drank a cup of hot tea, a very sweet glass of lemonade and ate a couple of pieces of some sort of hard like sticks of coffee cake (?) started having problm after that. Any connection? I swear it makes me think I will die.

by Blueaustralia - 2009-10-24 03:10:56

I find I cannot drink coffee since my pm and have heard others say the same. Try giving it a miss and see if it helps.

Hope you find a resoulution to your problems soon. The early hours of the morning are the scariest when you are worried about something.

Palpitations/ PCV/ Wind

by hayrm - 2009-10-24 04:10:25

Hi Mike,

I to get the same feelings as you, i get alot of wind, and i need to burp alot to make it ease.

I am getting alot of Extra's, Missed, Palps ect.. read my story on recent messages, Palapitaions / Anxiety.

The members on here are so helpful, it has saved me going to the doctors with my questions, the Dr told me the wind was not conected but im sure it is, and also the more you think and get anxious the worse it gets for me.

I have cut caffine, chocolate (most of the time) and food with MSG in it, just trying to eliminate causes.

Hope that helps

I was having the same problem, but I found out that giving up those coffee cups and soda pops help me out a lot. I only drink water or light ice tea. I can't say that once in awhile I feel one ( extra beats ) here and there, but not like I used to. You truly have to make some adjustments on what your drinking and eating. I even cut down on running so much and just walking at a fast pace. You have to take care of yourself Mike, let's keep this heart of yours functioning well by giving it good food and great care. I think you should cut down on the sugar intake, and if your going to drink coffee than drink decafe no coffee six before you have to sleep. I hope you make those changes and let us know how your doing after the adjustments, okay buddy!

I don't know if your still here since the original post is from 2009 but what you described in your first line is what I experianced a few times for about 2 hours for each incident. These incidents happened right before I got my first pacemaker. My heartrate dropped 40 bpm one day so I went to the emergency room. I had already started to see doctors.

I remember the day after I got out of the hospital this happened again after I ate a bowl of oatmeal. After 10 minutes of it I jumped up with the thought of taking an aspirin and to my surprize my heart returned to normal.

I went 5 years with a perfectly running heart but now in May of 2019 after my second pacemaker my heart is throwing PVCs and it brings me back to that experience before my first pacemaker.
