I didn't think we qualified for micra if we had existing traditional leads, but if that's changed it's exciting news! I have not heard of anyone getting one after traditional.

Oh really ...I even have old leads in my thoracic area under ribs from my child pacemaker.. they didn't remove them as they would be too awkward to move and could be just left. So I shall report back to you Tracey_E ...he's calling me tomorrow!

old leads

I believe it's leads in the vein that are the issue, not epicardial abandoned leads (assuming that's what your oldest ones are). I really don't know but am excited to hear what you learn! My understanding was they didn't work for anyone who needed two chamber pacing, had old leads or was dependent. That's 3 strikes for me lol, but I'm still holding out hope that my current leads last until I can have a micra. I know they started testing dual chamber leadless pacing fairly recently.

No personal experience but I have been looking at them.

There's an awful lot going on in a tiny package. It's less than the volume of a lump of sugar at about 0.9 cm cubed.

It's a groin implantation and I would wonder how it could be retrieved if needed. Leads in comparison are difficult to remove but possible.

Is this the heart equivalent of space junk?
