special bra after pacemaker implant?

is there a special recommendation for a bra after having a pacemaker fitted?   I still have problems with the strap 3 months after having the pacemaker.   Cardilogists are all male and have no recommendations.

If you use the search above  the "magnifying glass" next to "logout" and in the search box put "Bras" .  you will see different answers.

By the way please fill in your bio as to the make, model, year  inplanted, location etc.  As it helps so we can know how to answer some of your queries.  As sometimes the answers are different depending on where you live.

Bras for pacemaker

Speaking as a mere male... !!

Having spent many hours with the wife looking at bras, and talking to other lost souls in the bra departments,  my recommendations:

1. No one answer helps as we are all different shapes.

2. Try strapless.

3. Try front fastening

4. Try one you can change the straps on

5. Try sports bras.

6. Go to a good shop and explain your problem and get a proper fitting.

And yes the bio is important as in the UK we know which shops are best- please fill in your details.

Custom bra

Two years in and I still keep the strap off the pacemaker area. I took an old bra and cut the strap off where it attaches to the top of the cup.

Then I handsewed it closer to the left armpit, to the top side of the cup. It keeps the strap well off the pacemaker.  Sometimes with other bras, I wear the strap over the shoulder closer and just let it lay kinda under the edge of the shoulder.

They also make balconette bras. Amazon sells-they have wider placed straps:

Yes I have to admit I am no longer a fan of wearing bras since having a pm. However I really like camisoles with built in shelf bras. They usually have adjustable spaghetti straps and are soft and comfy. They look good as we'll under a cardigan or something basic. A fashion statement yet functional.

After my last pacemaker operation I wore strapless bras for a year. I then reverted to my usual bra - a balcony or balconette bra. The straps are wider and the bras are comfortable to wear.
