I appreciate everyone that takes the time to comment. It's an adjustment physically and mentally, learning to live and feel confident with the pacemaker. I think my shoulder pain is due to not been active enough not moving around the first 2-3 weeks. I was afraid I would move my leads. The more I regain my confidence that I am ok the better I feel in walking. In addition I was in ICU for 3 days not moving when first received a temporary pacemaker the 3 days later my permanent one. I am setting goals for myself to do more each week.

Hello Laurette

Yes, it does take time to feel safe with our pacemakers and to learn to ignore them.  I was gardening and stretching up to prune my shrubs within a few weeks, probably prematurely, but it is not natural to avoid reaching up, is it.

I was concerned that I might have pulled a lead, but they quickly bed into heart tissue and they leave some slack anyway, so the chances of pulling a lead is slim.

I hope your Boston Scientific is pacing well and that you are not experiencing any difficulties.  Just give us a shout if you have any further questions or if you need reassurance.  There is always someone around.  Just wanted to welcome you and to say hello

You may need your pcp to order physical therapy. That shoulder and arm need to be worked. I saw a licensed massage therapist for my arm and it really helped.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
