Did you make it clear it's an ICD?

Only ICD's make noise. Many people use ICD and pacemaker interchangeagble but they are different devices.  No pacemaker on the market make noise.  Abbott St Judes vibrates for their PM's.

I agree with all the previous contributors Beep and in any event, without seeing the context in which the comments were made, I would find it difficult to know how to respond to your post.   

No “caring, respectful” regular member here would knowingly cause offence or deliberately mislead another member about an important issue.  

Perhaps your main criticism is about the suggestion that the member asking for advice was told to get a hearing check?  This might have sounded rather rude or uncalled for but perhaps the member suggesting this meant no real harm. 

I am sorry you may have been affected by what you have read.  We try our best to remove offensive remarks whenever we see them and to keep this site "clean".  If you would care to send me a copy of the post privately that has caused such offence, I will have a look at it and decide with Tracey_E what, if anything, needs to be done?

I can say my ICD made warning beeps when battery got low power after 7 years.  Was replaced 2021.
