High PM Pals

I have to go for a Doppler Scan tomorrow, at the hospital ,on my leg. If it shows DVT then straight over to A&E. Is it ok for people with pacemakers to have this type of scan. Thanks. I feel nervous Billie

Dear Billie,
Sorry I just missed you in chat.Good luck for tomorrow I hope it goes well. I think this type of scan is OK with pacemakers.Make sure you ask them,
Hope you get some answers from others on the site.
Do you think you will still be able to do your trip over in April?.I do hope so!.Ill speak to you tomorrow.
Take care .

Doppler scanning is usually part of an Ultrasound procedure. It is safe for pacemakers. I have had echocardiagrams with Doppler many times on my heart with no after effects at all. Rest easy. It's a common, no pain procedure that only glops you up with a messy goo stuff. That's about it!
Good luck with it and the very best to you.

Thanks pPM Pals for your reassurances and kind words. Nothing showed up on my scan. It must be the maturing process of my body. Although I would love to know why when I lay down it is like ice starts running in the veins up to my knees. I get so cold. I really appreciate the support everyone gives each other on this site. We are truly lucky. It is like belonging to an elite club! Well it is isn't it. Cheers and best wishes to all. Billie

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
