I must apologize

I didn't mean to alarm everyone by posting and then disappearing.

On the day after I posted, I had an appointment to discuss my symptoms with my PCP, as my EP had recommended. But when I woke up the morning of the appointment, I had severe GI symptoms. I felt so rotten, any cardiac issues were shoved to the back burner. We discussed cardiac issues only to decide to table them.

One abdomen C-T scan later, the diagnosis was diverticulitis. Since then, I've been between the bed, the bathroom, and the sofa. I haven't felt well enough to post anything.  With 20/20 hindsight, I believe the diverticulitis had been brewing for a while, but I had been treating every symptom as one-time upset.

The antibiotics seem to be doing their work, slower than I would like, but the worst symptoms have abated. Still, the anti-nausea med keeps me too sleepy to do much.

I am alive and I'll be in touch soon.

In the meantime, I am more touched than I can say by the concern and caring so many of you have expressed. Thank you. Thank you.

What a relief to hear from you

by Gemita - 2023-11-21 03:03:30

Oh dear Gotrhythm, perhaps we need look no further for a few answers?  I am so relieved to hear from you.  I was imagining all sorts of things and wondering just how I could get help to you and so were others I have no doubt.  This makes me feel that we need a plan B for the future should any of us ever get into trouble?

The gut-heart connection is real and I wonder if your bowel condition (inflammation or infection) has triggered worsening heart symptoms, causing increased palpitations and heart rate.  I wouldn’t be at all surprised, but one condition at a time and let us treat the most acute first.

I send you lots of hugs and hope that you will soon be feeling so much better.  You deserve to be well  xx

Good to Hear

No apologies necessary, but good to hear that you didn't collapse walking your dog!

Best Wishes

I'm sorry to hear that you are having such trouble. Diverticulitis is awful. Hoping that the meds soon carry you to comfort. It's an awful dilemma.

May you be completely healed and be at peace. May your bowels calm down and the infection dissipate. May God bless you and shower you with strength and happiness.

With thanksgiving just around the corner, might I also add that I am thankful for you and all the wonderful words you type into this club. ❤️‍🩹🌺
