Hi Pals

Hi everyone. Especially all those who are new and a little confused and uptight. I often wonder what we would do without this wonderful site and all the good answers we get to our questions. I wish to thank you all, especially Smitty and Electric Frank whom I find a great comfort.

It has been so hot here. Not as hot as where Kay is. We have been gardening. I am putting all my pot plants into the garden for nature to look after them during the winter rains. My family are not great gardeners and tend to forget to water things. I am getting excited about taking off and seeing Kay again. We will be spending two weeks in her area. We belong to a house sit and house swap club to have quite a few comittments. Mainly looking after dogs. Owners hate to leave their houses empty and pets going to kennels etc. It is a great way to meet people and make friends.

I still miss Phoenix the old sheep but Frosti the Snow lamb has taken over as the matriarch. She was a triplet that was abandoned and I resucitated her from frozen. Hence her name. We have two other lambs that were orphans last year.

I cannot believe I have been able to do so much physical work towards getting away. I rarely notice my pacemaker and since my blood pressure tablets were increased I feel heaps better. I do get tired. But it is a different tiredness. My body feels calmer and more at peace with itself. Mind you, my bones and aches and pains do tell me I am too old for this lark.

Is there any limits to the physical activity we should do? I read about people going to the gym and lifting weights. I get my exercise round the house. Always on the go. Any comments would be appreciated. The only problem I have is with mopping floors. I seems to go weak in the chest bending over and mopping also if I try to dig the garden. Cheers to all have a good week. Billie

your stories are very interesting and i always wanted to visit the outback. maybe my chance will come. i am so proud of you doing the work in the garden and the house. yes this lark is taxing at times and we are getting tired of it. sometimes i think a nice flat would do. do you think the same? do they call them flats there? i do love my backyard tho and i love the flowers so not ready to give in for awhile. so hope your week is good to and ihope you enjoy your touring around. love, maureen

Dear Billie,
Im looking foward to catching up in a couple of weeks with both of you.I do hope the weather is cooler by then.It has been around 40c everyday for a week or so.
PHEW!!!
I think walking and bike riding are the best excersise for us.As long as we keep active is the main thing !!

My garden is looking a bit wilted in the heat at the moment. We badly need rain. Parts of Aust have had lots but we always miss out!!Glad you are feeling better now...The holiday is going to do you both good.
Take care -Love Kay

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.
