Power Tools with pacemaker

I just got my pacemaker the end of December and was told that I had to be careful about using power tools.  I want to use an electric hedge trimmer and also power wash my patio.

Does anyone know if it's okay to use these power tools?

Thank you!

i have been using a battery hedge trimmer without any  problems.  Do not have a power washer.  Just  keep them at least 6 inches from your pacmaker, do not rest against  the tools on your body.   Also do not reach with your tools to high.

Power tools

This crops up a lot.

Just use the same care as you would with any power tool.

Mains electricity kills, pacemaker or not.

Most domestic equipment is perfectly safe with your PM, but hobbies like welding or repairing microwave ovens needs some extra care. I've used power tools for years with a PM and no issues.

Most PM manufacturers publish guidance on what to avoid.

I use an electric hedge trimmer with no issues. I never power washed. Call your pacemaker manufacturer for advice. Most household tools are fine though.

Power wash.ing

I am only familiar with a power washer with a long high pressure hose to the main unit. There is no risk using this Karcher set-up of a pressure washer.

MRI Hardened

My dual chamber pacer is MRI-hardened.  Been scanned twice and use electric power tools often with no issues in the garden.  Your pacer manual should explain this.  If you don't have one Google you model pacer the manual should come up.

these cant affect you, unless you are trying to get out of doing yard work...

You know you're wired when...

You have a maintenance schedule just like your car.
