3 Years Pacing and All is Well

It's been a while since I've even been on the forum which says a lot about how little the PM has affected my life the past couple of years.  Had some initial difficulties with rate response on my Biotronic Edora.  It was eventually turned off and I have had no issues since.  I forget that I even have the PM.  Just wanted to thank everyone here for the good advice in year 1 and encourage others to keep advocating for yourselves.  This forum is a great resource!

Hopefully it will continue to give good service.

Yes, the forum is one of the best of it's type, with lots of practical and real life experience.

Welcome back

Mad Hatter, it is lovely to hear from you after so long and to know that you are doing so well.

I too had Rate Response turned off after many miserable attempts to get it finely adjusted to suit.  Hopefully it will stay off this time and I will be none the worse without it.

I hope you are still able to excise to your full potential.  It certainly sounds like it?  What a success story

Wow, Mad, (if I can address you with familiarity)πŸ˜† if is sooo good to see your most welcome news!  You know that is the case with the majority of pacemaker patients! They do well and forget they even have one!!

When I got mine, I spoke with my older neighbor-the only person I knew who had a pacemaker. I asked him how he puts up with it. He said he never thinks about it and forgot he had one. Lol

I thought I would never get to that point. But honestly it is no longer my focus. Thanks for dropping by! I recall your story well!

Fantastic!

I love hearing your success!  It gives us newbies hope that all this can fade into the background of a continuing active life.

Great News, keep it up

I have Boston Scientific Accolade implanted July 2022 in DDDR mode for 2 degree AV block. I also have my RR turned off, after experiencing too many tachycardic episodes some even with simple movements of my left arm. Fortunately I don't have chronotropic incompetence as of yet, and I hope I'll never develop it🀞!!

great news!

Hi again

I'm thinking you mean TWO years pacing not three! Lol check on it. You posted in 2022 that you were headed for a pacemaker. πŸ˜‰

Exactly right Lavender--it's only been two years!  Seems like a long time ago now.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
