Because this topic was recently visited on this forum, I thought I'd post an update on the first 10 drugs that have been price negotiated by Medicare here in the US, effective 2026. Several of the drugs are related to heart failure. All are amongst the most commonly prescribed drugs for medicare (aka older or those on permanent disability) recipients. A step in the right direction. Also, please note that the prices listed are for those with Part D (Medicare Drug) Coverage, vs those in the US with commercial (aka private) medical insurance.
The big picture plan is for Medicare to develope a seoncd list of drugs for price negotiations; no clue as to which drugs may be on that list. Could you still get the drugs cheaper in Canada or elsewhere? Honestly not sure, but for those who can't, don't or won't consider a non-US pharmacy, these new prices are a tremendous improvement.

One of the headings on the attachment shows the number of medicare recipients who use the drug as of 2023 (I think). The gov't is going after trying to get price reductions on some of these most frequently prescribed medications for medicare recipients.

I pay $1.89 for a 3 month supply for each of my meds.
BUT I also pay h*llishly taxes for this privilege. I went on about this about 1 1/2 years ago.
If you are a senior or have a child who spends a lot of time in the hospital this is life saving.
