number of views

Do not know if it is just my computer or if it is the site.  But the number of views on our queries seem off.  There is no way to get over 2000+ views.

Mary, this started after your post on the hurricane. After that, several posts, including yours, got over 2000-2500+ views. It's got to be another glitch. Still awaiting our new site. It's October so hopefully it will arrive soon.

Yes, I can clearly see the problem now

Hello New to Pace,

Yes I have been through pages of posts now and I can see your post on Hurricane Helene is not the only post that has an exceptionally high "view" count, since this anomaly is occurring over several pages of New Messages now.

Hopefully this will be the extent of data irregularities, if indeed it is incorrect?   I will report this to Admin in case they are unaware of this change

33 on this topic at 09:08 BST.

Should pick up in a few hours. Highly unlikely to be a problem with the computer unless the view bot is at work.

The BBC website can easily clock up 5000 comments on a topic and considerably more views.

Agreed but this is not the BBC and so far in all the years I have been on this site, views and comments have been slow moving.  I wonder why this should suddenly change and only on isolated posts, although this seems to be a rapidly changing picture.  Reaching these dizzy levels of views has only "rarely" been seen when I have searched the database in the past, so this is a completely new finding.

Two other thoughts, we are perhaps getting more public views because of our attachment to other platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, or someone is playing around clicking on the same post multiple times

I know. it doesn't help when bot gets turned into not.

Here's one that might be of interest

Nothing surprises me anymore

Piglet, astonishing.

I hope you will never need emergency open heart surgery.  Fancy using a pen-knife (a knife used to cut up lunch), to open the chest of a patient because the surgeon claimed he couldn't find a sterile scapel.

I think you had better consider moving and finding a hospital with a better reputation before it is too late.

Going back to New to Pace's post, this increase in "Views" has been going on randomly for weeks since end August, ten days or so before the Certificate expired.  Don't know if that is relevant

Just a brief update

Have heard from Admin and they are looking into the "views" on the posts and will let us know once they have additional information.
