Santa' s gift

Hi my dear friends,
I posted last week and need words of encouragement. Thank you for all of your thoughts.

Santa is bringing me a brand new pacemaker on Thursday, December 27. Just think...some people just get coal! I must have been a very good girl!

All joking aside, my surgery will be the first of the morning. I go in the hospital at 6. There will be a room reserved for me overnight just incase my leads need replaced. This set has been in there for 13 years. I'm really hoping they won't need replaced. The doctor said they look good now but he won't be able to tell for sure until the surgery.

I will be able to have a total of 11 days off of school due to the weekends and Christmas vacation. I'm hoping that those 11 days will be enough for me to feel well again before returning to my classroom of 22 first graders.

I can tell that it is time for my pacer to be replaced...getting tired, getting short of breath...feeling the pacing more. Are these normal feelings?

Thank you all so very much! You are my wonderful new family!
I wish all of you a happy and healthy holiday.

Please send positive thoughts my way on Thursday, December 7.
Happy Ho Ho,
Donna

With your 22 first graders and all your pacemaker friends praying for you and sending good thoughts your way, you will be just fine. I had my 10 children & 23 grandchildren all praying for my av node ablation and pm, and I went in with a smile and came out with a smile. Sure, there are little ouches now and then, but it is all worth it. Mine is a medtronic and their rep was the one who told me about this fabulous club. A great website to go to for all heart info is the www.clevelandheartclinic.org
It is the greatest for so many answers to all my questions.
Anyway, dear, a very Merry Christmas to you and a wonderful year ahead. With love & prayers aldeer

Hi, I had my first pacer installed in 1992.In August of 06
it was replaced and they were able to use the original leads. so hopefully they can do the same for you.

You know you're wired when...

You read consumer reports before upgrading to a new model.

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
