replacement surgery over

Hi Dear Friends,
I am now about 29 hours post surgery. I had my new angel placed in me yesterday morning. Thank you to everyone of you who sent me messages, prayed for me, and kept me in your thougths.

The surgery went well. I got to the hospital by 6 AM and was home by 11AM with a brand new angel....my new St. Jude pacer.

I am still tired from all the meds and I plan on taking a nap anytime that I feel like it! I guess after 13 years, I forgot about what the incision would look like. They told me not to shower for 3 days. I took my dressing off this morning. I do have some swelling...hopefully that is normal.

I love this site and all my new friends. I will check back later.
Have a great day pacing,
Donna

Donna,

Thanks for taking the time from your recuperation to update us. It sounds as if everything went well, thank heavens. To answer your question, I'm fairly sure a little swelling in the beginning is normal. At least it was for me.
But if you have concerns please don't hesitate to call your doctor's office. That's what they are there for.

Anyway, get some rest and don't try to do too much. Lower activity and stress helps us heal faster.

Take care,
Suze
