Panic attacks

Here I am again . . . ONE more question. Is anyone experiencing panic attacks after PM implantation? I think maybe some of my night-time awakenings with heart pounding and shaking may in fact be panic or anxiety attacks. Have read that's possible. (I sometimes learn more here than from my doc! Thank you all for your previous responses!) Thanks in advance for any replies!

Susan has a good point about the night time checks. They either aren't bothersome at all or they can be really scarey. If it is the pacer self test the the panic attack will always happen at the same time of night. If the doc doesn't want to turn off self checks then have him try a different time like maybe a couple of hours after you go to bed and when you are in heavier sleep. Mine is set for 3:00AM and the only time I notice it is when I get up for a bathroom stop. If I am in the process of waking or just settling back down, the test goes off when I am groggy.
Don't let anyone put you down about the symptoms of panic attacks. They are scary and can cause arrhythmias that just makes the attack worse. If you can identify them as panic attacks often you are on the way to stopping them.

I am with you on this one. Just lately I have had trouble going to sleep because of the extra beats when I am just about to nod off.

Another question for the cardiologist on Friday.

I am also seeking counselling if possible. This was a suggestion from one of the guys. I hope you settle down it is difficult and I sympathise with you. How do you know anxiety from something else.

like the previous posted said it may not be panic attacks i awake in the night on a regular basis in hot sweats my heart is dancing around 190bpm it is very very frightning for me.
i also get these in the day and i get dizzy , tunnel vision and confused im 29 and a mans man and don't really like to talk about it with my friends but i feel i can let you guys know how it is.
if anyone can help my symptoms seem the same.
