"ticking"

I'm flummoxed! I have an intermittent "ticking" like a watch or clock. Just in very unusual hot weather, when I go to bed at night. Three nights in a row now. Not painful but drives me nuts! I assumed it was tachycardia but took my BP/pulse and it was normal. Is my battery dying? Or am I going crazy? Should I call my pacemaker tech?

do you notice it in certain positions, if so it could be the position that they attached the lead.

Do you hear it or do you feel it? I get a ticking kind of under my right ribs. I had the impression (maybe wrong) that it has to do with my PM irritating or stimulating the phrenic nerve.

Ticking

Thanks for responding! I just FELT it. It felt like a heartbeat (which I usually don't feel, but sometimes I do) but MORE like a ticking of a clock. Pulse was normal. This was obviously a MUCH faster "clock ticking" rhythm. I was lying flat on my back, as always, in bed. After a while, I have to get up and walk around and then try lying down again, and it's sometimes fine then, but sometimes have to do this three or four times. Cannot feel it when I put my hand to my chest. Too weird . . . so posted my little message! My PM is 3 years old, and doing fine other than this, if it's even related. ??? ~Jean

I used to feel a violent "ticking" I would have to get up and walk around if I was sitting down. They altered my pm setting. Now, sometimes ,I can feel a gentle ticking like a clock. It comes and goes and I just figure it is the pm working. I have mentiontioned it to my tech and it seems it is nothing to worry about.

Chers from downunder.

Thanks

Thanks for your comments. My ticking is likewise a "gentle" ticking. If yours comes and goes, I will hope mine does the same, and just try and ignore it . . . sigh! I will mention it to my tech, but won't see her for about 6 months. I just had my 6-month check last week and everything was fine, and she set me up for another 6 months. ~Jean

another ticker

Well you know I am fresh to having this fine piece of runninng equipment. What I have noticed sounds just like what you are trying to describe. I get it when I lay on my right side or stomach. I feel the ticking. It feels like someone is just tapping a stick on your chest. What I have discovered is it is pacing. Everytime i feel this, the rate is 60. I pace at 60. It also makes the muscles in my chest twitch. I believe this is because my pm is so new and the settings are high. Hopefully mine with go down when they turn the output down. Its not a pain, feels sharper than a beat. Kind of like a beat with a kick i guess. Drives me nuts too! If i roll on left side i dont seem to get it. But I think I have figured it out to be when it is pacing at the rate of 60, which in my case makes sense.

Hello

I have the same thing and sometimes it gets kind of annoying. It seems like it is doing it alot more lately. Does anyone know what is causing this and is it normal.
