We are finally off

Hi Folks

Brian and I are finally taking off tomorrow for our round Australia trip. Our first stop is in Victoria for nine weeks to look after a house, dog and sheep whilst the owners go on a trip to Canada and Ireland. We will then go on up to the Snowy Mountains to
the small town that Brian was brought up in when he first came to Australia. He will spend some time with his old school pal. There are only two of them left from their class - age catches up with us all eventually.

As we don't know how long we will be away we are taking our darling doggie with us. She has been so anxious all the week with the packing and has given us many a woeful look. "Oh no you are not going away again to leave me." She has taken to sitting in the car, determined this time she is coming.

It is winter here now and after our first stop we will be in spring which should be good. I find since havinga pacemaker I cannot take the extreme heat especially when travelling.

I was due for a check of my pacemaker and cardiac specialist visit in October but it has been arranged that I can see someone on the mainland. If I need a check at anytime or have problems all I have to do is go to the nearest hospital cardiac department. That is a relief. Hobart have given me all my details to take with me.

I will keep in touch with everyone whilst I am away as I will have a laptop with me. I don't think I could go too long without my contacts with all my special friends. Our first stop on Sunday is to meet up with Rewired Aussie. Kay and I are very excited about seeing each other again. We will be across Port Phillip Bay from her so will see each other for shopping together in our favourite places.

Well, folks I find it all hard to believe it is finally going to happen after our last attempt was cancelled because of Brian's illness. But, I guess all good things come to those who wait. Only thing is some wait longer than others.!!

Pace well, keep well all of you. Cheers Billie XXX

Sounds like fun. We spent a week in Australia in 99. But we just stayed in Sidney and took day trips by rail or boat. I would have loved to get to the outback, but just did not have time. I too am roasting in the southern US. Have fun

Hello Billie and Brian,

I would like to wish you a safe and wonderful trip. I pray it will be everything you've hoped for and more and more. It sounds just beautiful. Your friends are very lucky people to know you. It isn't everyone that would house sit as you are. Wonderful of you.

Lovely that you are taking your dog. We love our 2 dogs as well and would find it hard to leave them at for that amount of time as well.

Take care, wishing you both a beautiful trip.

Have a wonderful time on your travels.

Bet your pup is very glad to be coming along, we try to take our "girls" with us when possible!

Please write about your journey as most of us haven't been to Australia.

Best wishes, have a blast and stay safe!

I feel fabulous!

You know you're wired when...

You have an excuse for being a couch potato.
