Pacemaker seems to have moved

Hi everyone,

I am almost in my 8th week since pm plant. I notice that my pacemaker has moved up more. It is very close to my left collarbone. Actually, when I feel it, there is about a "fingertip" between them. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, is it safe? I sort of feel it, and it seems much closer. I am worried that my leads are in the way and going to get broken. I do go again this coming Friday to the Cardiologist and also to get my PM check. So I am going to mention it and show them. My GP didn't think there was anything to worry about, but I am really parinoid. Thanks for any info.

Janice

I think you are ok Janice. Mine is exactly where you discribe yours. It's been there 2 years and has never been a problem. That seems to be the place they put them. Bowlrbob

Hi Janice,
Welcome! I would totally mention the move to your doctor or pm tech on Friday. Though along with the others mine seems to be placed exactly the same. Your wires i'm sure are just fine but either way you will know on Friday. I'm sure that you are still adjusting to the pacemaker if at all you need somebody to talk to please feel free to send a private message.
I wish you luck on your road to recovery. Take care of yourself. Many thoughts!

Blessings,
Tammy

Pacemaker Moved

Janice,
If you are concerned you should check with your doctor. However, I just checked the location of mine and I would be hard pressed to put my forefinger betweeen my collar bone and the top of my pacemaker and so far as I know it has been in that location for more than 5 years. Like Bowlrbob said, that seems to be the place they put them.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.
