Hi all,

One news that is getting much attention in my country is of a Unborn child with Congenital complete heart block :-( same case as mine and few of our fellow friend in this site. There is lot of debate whether the couple should be allowed to abort the child. However court has rejected their plea. Please stand by the unborn child he/she needs our prayers...

I wish the family could be directed to this site. I, too, was born with complete heart block. My folks were told to take me home to die. That was 1948 (yeah, I'm old!). My heart rate was around 35-40 until even that activity gave out in 1975. Luckily for me, pacemakers were available by then. I have now had 7 changes and a PM for 33 years.
PLEASE tell the family there is hope for their baby. There are many of us here to attest to that.
My best to them,
Gellia

I just read the article and though I believe in a women's right to choose 26 weeks is late for an abortion. i also have a comlpete heart block that was discovered when I was a month old. Always had a slow heart rate, (in fact in High school in Biology class we were study they haert and pulse and the teacher said that if your rate is below 60 you shouldn't be there) Of course at the time my hr was about 50. I had no restriction on my activities. Too bad the parents didn't know about this site. They could learn a few things.

Anyone who can't handle the thought of a baby that's less than perfect doesn't have any business having a baby. Life happens and it isn't perfect and children don't come with guarantees. Her baby, like many of us with CCHB, can have a perfectly normal, happy life.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
