SwineFlu/Normal Flu

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone feels the need to get either of these shots? I have Bradycardia & SSS. I don't know if I fall into the catagory of a person with a health condition. Also, I would like to get some feed back on the shots in general. I did a little bit of research & it seems that what they put in the shots is more dangerous for you then if you were to get the flu. I live in Wi & there has already been 8 deaths though. I am also a Daycare teacher so, I am around alot of little ones.

Just was wondering what everyone ones thoughts were on this.

It's been all over the news here about cardiologists encouraging all cardiac patients to get both. There have been several discussions here about the pro's and con's, if you do a search it should come right up. I will not be getting either. Only you can decide what's right for you.

I've had both

There was a post recently about someone who got sick after taking the flu shot. I've had both the H1N1 and the regular flu shot and have had no side effects whatsoever. I got sick with the flu in 1999 and couldn't shake it for months, ended up in congestive heart failure and was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. Was on the heart transplant list for a time. I'm scared NOT to get the flu shot because I don't think I'd survive the flu this time. But you have to decide for yourself what's best for you. An arrhythmia doesn't put you into a high-risk category unless you have some other chronic condition.

my thoughts

Three years ago I started a new job and they gave the flu shots for free, I had never had it before but it was free so I took it, ussually I would get sick at least twice a winter, after I started taking the shot havent knock on wood havent gotten sick, cant count my heart surgery, lol, for three years. like i said knock on wood. Still not sure about the h1n1 shot, if i understand right it is a live vaccine, correct me if im wrong anyone, that kinda of scares me, so dont know about that one.
