what happened?

After my implant surgery in october I haven't been able to feel my left shoulder and part of my upper arm and the skin there is very white. Did something bad happen in my surgery that my surgeon didn't tell me? Whats wrong with my skin?

What Happened?

The same happened to me. Also, my rotator cuff was damaged. I think the numbness in the upper arm is due to the immobilization for the surgery. The Doc can not allow you to move while threading the needle. If so he could puncture something major. For this reason, they make sure you are clamped very tight and secure. I too have marks on my upper arm where I was strapped down. Rotator cuff still pops but at least it is not hurting. It has been 5-1/2 months since my implant and most of the feeling has returned to my upper arm. However, I still have the two marks. I still have episodes of tingling when I exercise a lot. I am playing golf 5 days a week and exercising on my Bowflex 3-4 days per week.

Hang in there, it does get better. It just takes time. I have found that the older I get (61) the longer it takes.
