Bracelet

Hi Rayan
Yes I do wear a necklace that has my complete info on my pacemaker and the coumadin I take and any other info that would indentify me in case my husband and I get into an accident. I dont wear it everytime I go out but i especially wear it if I am traveling or going someplace where hospitals etc. are far away. I also have info in the glove compartment and in my billfold. I am 100% dependent so the pacer is my lifeline.

Thanks, DD

Hi Rayan!

Good point to always have some kind of medical information on you. I have a bracelet that I got from LaurensHope (.com).

I also carry my pacemaker cards in my wallet along with a list of present medications I take and ALL of my allergies.

I also have both these lists on my fridge and in the glove compartment of the car AND my husband carries both lists too! I just want to be covered if at any time I cannot speak for myself.

I have finally gotten another bracelet but more than that i bought into http://www.americanmedical-id.com/about_us/frequent.php It is an online registry with 24 access to ALL your information once you get it set up. I have the 1-800 number and my access number on my bracelet. This way if I am unable to talk medical personel can call and get all the info they need as well as emergency contacts and advance directives. It is also possible to get a flash drive and carry all your information on it too.

Highly recommend it for piece of mind!

I have one too

I've got a "kids" sportband which doesn't look at all like a med alert. I know it's voluntary, but I feel a lot more comfortable with my bracelet. I got it from American Medical ID, and they also have a website where you can enter an online medical record. I have the web address listed on my bracelet with the access code. I feel like I'm completely covered just in case anything happens and it doesn't matter where I'm at they can access my medical record online. It's free with a bracelet purchase.
I'm 33. My pacemaker scar is only an inch long, and I'm scared people won't even think of me having a pacemaker if I'm ever not able to speak for myself. Plus, I know I won't always have my stupid card on me. That's ridiculous.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.

I am just thankful that I am alive and that even though I have this pacemaker it is not the end of the world.
