Cooking with Induction

Is there anyone who knows something about the effect of an induction cooker on the pacemaker?

My take on it

From the sites mentioned above and some other research it seems that keeping a reasonable distance from the cooking area is all that is needed.

There is a mention in several of the articles about this only applying to bi-polar pacing. This is the mode that most pacers operate in. The only thing to keep in mind is that most pacers are programmed to revert to unipolar mode if there is a problem with the leads.

You can call Medtronics and talk to one of their engineers or techs. My experience is that they are very helpful.

Can't say that I have seen anything out there on this, but might make a great article for a publication.

I may have to get a medical student or resident to check into this from a practical standpoint.

As with any magnetic field, distance is good!

You know you're wired when...

You have rhythm.
