lead

Has anyone had your ep said to your cardiologist and primary that he will put in a two lead Medtronic and then you find out there is only one lead. What would be the reason? Do you have any ideas? aldeer

Clueless here...

I suggest if your EP did not give you information following your implant that you call them up today! I have called my EP's office and spoke to his nurse with many questions. They are always good to answer them.

What is the reason you received a pacemaker? When did you "discover" only one lead instead of two? I was under the impression they generally always did a 2 lead these days.... but I am a newbie (3 weeks since implant) and simply don't have much information yet.

Good luck. You paid a lot of money for your pacemaker... ask all the questions and demand time if necessary! Talk to your cardiologist or primary care doctor as well. You deserve to have answers to your questions!

Get a printout

Get a printout of your next checkup. You should be able to tell how many leads you have. Or, better yet get a copy of your surgical records for the implant. It will list the model and serial numbers of the leads.
One possibility is that you have two leads implanted but only one is currently in use. Could be a misunderstanding

A pleasant way to go

At least it's a quick way to go!

Thanks for the input. It really helps to know what others are experiencing from their docs.

medtronic lead

Thanks for the info. However, as I said the ep wrote saying I would have a two lead medtronic. Later when I called Medtronic for info, I was told that my model had only one lead. I was also told by my cardiologist that if I pulled that lead out, I would not feel a thing because my heart would not be pumping. I go to the cardiologist because my ep is a distance away, but I will be having many questions. Again, thanks both Frank and Swedeheart.... aldeer
