PACEMAKER RELATED INFECTIONS

I had no idea that you can contract an infection several years later after having a pacemaker implanted. I thought an infection was caused at the time of implantation of the Pacemaker and caused symptoms a couple of weeks later. Blake your letter drew my attention to this fact. It was very well written, well done.

I heard about this possibility from professor Fucs an EP who answeard in that time to patients questions.it's happened rarely,but could be a serious probleme.I had 20years ago an infectious endocarditis on my native mitral valve.The antibiotical treatment was very successful, but it takes almost 6weeks.,all this time in hospital. Only thinking about this could be for me a nightmere. If you have some new informations please share that with me. Happy Healthy NEW YEAR.
