Hi

Hello friends
I have not been on here for several months due to not feeling too well again.
About 4 months i went to my pm clinic with a problem. Over my pm site there seemed to be a swelling which was very tender to touch. The technician just said that the doctor would laugh at her if she called him to see me and nothing was wrong and sent me away with a 12 month review appt. This pm was inserted Dec 2004 my second one. First one inserted in1987.
Since then i have had trouble with my shoulder and my left arm, with fingers going numb. The pain has been terrible.
I am worried in case the battery is leaking and causing some poisen around the site causing the swelling and pain.
I dont want to go back in case they do think i AM a fruit loop.
Any help would be mostly appreciated, as have been in the past.
regards
fluzy suzy

Interesting I have the same problem going on. I have a built up of inflamation around the site that would radiate into my left breast a little. It is recent to me. I have had two trips to the ER and about five trips to dr offices.
My regular dr is who I started off with and placed me on antibiotic to just make sure it was no infection. In the hospital they did a ultrasound to make sure no fluid was built up behind. I feel like I have 10lbs sitting on top of my chest all the time directly over pm site.
I went to see a pm np who told me that they had seen this in one other replacement before. They placed me on a inflamation reducer. He told me it takes month to go away and that they don't know what causes it. They brought in a infectious dr for the other person and said that they feel it would be a waste for me knowing what they learned last time was absoultely nothing.
I am grateful for your posting b/c I really feel alone sometimes with having this problem. I told my Dr i'm clearly not crazy you can see the swelling. I have always lost feeling some in my left arm b/c the scar tissue from the surgeries is pressing on my nerve.
It will take time is what the Dr's told me and I hope the same for you that it will just go away fastly.

Blessings,
Tammy

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
