Reveal monitor

Hi Everyone
Its me again the pest, lol, I think we in England are catching up with the rest of the world at last. My son had his reveal monitor about 8 months ago and all of a sudden he is being given another monitor to attach to his telephone line so any problems he can send information from his monitor to casualty department at our local hospital.
I have read about this on numberous occasions on the u.s.a. sites but not known it here in england.
I hope that this is a good thing and that my son does not depend on it and frightened to go out in case something happens and he not at home to send info on.
Hope everyone is feeling ok and take care all
Regards

I had that! I'm from England too, and even had to have the box to send the info to my doctor. Mine din't work though - I ended up having to go down to the hospital to have the information downloaded. It's fine if you can't send it straight away but it's best to do it as soon as possible; those implants have a huge memory. The box is only an easier way to send the information along to the hospital instead of going all the way down!

Feel free to contact me if you'd like to know more! :)

Hi,
I have the same thing (revel monitor and phone in thingy). You don't have to worry about taking it with you unless you are traveling for a long time or something. The reveal monitor saves up to 3 user indicated incidents (21 minutes total) and then 20 or more "'automatic" recordings where the monitor records heart things that are outside the set parameters. The phone thing is just an "at home" reader, so if you recorded symptoms then you can call in and have the device read without having to go in. That way, if a symptom is recorded by you (or your son) you can call it in and find out if there is a need for you to come in and be seen, or if you are still looking for what's causing your problems. It's way easier than going in and getting it read, in the US it's cheaper too.
I've only brought the at home call in thing when going to other countries. I call in if I record a symptom and have the device read for automatic recordings on a scheduled basis, otherwise the thingy stays in the box :-) It's actually just a convenience item, and it's free with the device.
Good luck!
