Getting back on my feet

Hey guys! I hate coming here with anything BUT something weird, funny, or genius. Which is why I'm bringing something of that sort here today!!! But first, I want to reiterate the amazing support that I have found here over the years. I guess this is my 4th year on here. Wow, I now feel even older. Anyway, the comments on my last post made my chin come up about 6 inches. Yeah. Pat yourselves on the back. :) Seriously, I don't know what I would do without having you all to come to!

I am feeling WAY better, aside from a minor setback on Wednesday. I went to donate blood and was PUMPED (pun intended). I was finally old enough, and had dedicated turning 16 to helping others (BIG heart fundraiser). Last year, I was told that I would be able to donate (those with pacers should be 6 months out of surgery and feel fine). I got the papers signed and even dressed for the occasion!! I got to the appointment and was deferred. I had an emotional breakdown and went home (after getting ice cream and coffee). But like you all, the supportive people in my life brought me back up.

Going to make apple butter at my friends church tonight, and it is the night I drink upwards of 15 cups of coffee and do my annual duct tape shopping (I live for the stuff). Sure to be an AWESOME night!!!!!!! Good way to end a not so good week. Thanks for EVERYTHING you guys!!! So here are the things you REALLY came for:

Apple Butter

Hey Sydney, You just turned my clock back many years and reminded me it's time for apple butter. Just drove by the old cider mill about an hour ago where as a kid I used to watch them cooking apple butter in big quantities. No, that's not right, the cider mill is gone and navy beans were being harvested in the field where the mill used to be. Gotta say, Ease up on the coffee. I'm not a coffee person although as a young gal you got to get your kicks from whichever works best!!! Thanks for the quote as you can't take it with you so I toke it to the dump. donb

Hi Sheila, Apple Butter, a must at Cracker Barrel. Basically it's an old, old form of apple sauce with added cinnamon, cloves, extra sweet cider & sugar and cooked down to what you like! donb

Duct Tape!!

Hi Sydney, Hey, another educated proper word, "duct tape" I'm a real old timer have used lots in my years. BUT, seems now everyone in our area call it "duck tape"
Guess maybe one manufacture market it as "duck tape"
Anyhow, can't imagine how a young gal uses it as just old people repair things. donb

just wanted to say youre an inspiration to me and what i hope my daughter will be. she has had her pacer since she was 2 months old, and i can only hope she will have as good an attitude as you. you are blessed!!!
