Hello everyone....I was wondering if anyone had use Mederma Scar Cream on their pm scar. I wanted to try and use it to lighten up my scar because it is really red and it stands out alot.

Thanks,

My EP said not to use anything on the incision scar until 2 months post op to be sure that an infection doesn't arise. He also said that putting anything on it before that point wouldn't help anyways. He also said the BEST thing to use is really Vitamin E--I've used this before for other scars and I agree. How far out (post-op) are you?

I did and this cream really worked for me. I did wait until the scar was fully healed before I began to use this cream. My scar looks like a pencil line now. At first it was horrible!
Good luck.

Hello...I also used mederma but I found it doesn't work on old scars like they say it does. I did have some sucess with a new scar. My doctor also recommended a cream called Eucerin. It is more of a mosturizer to help with the tightness of the scar. So after the 2 months I'm gonna use the mederma and the eucerin. Hope it works cause at my young age I'm having big issues with my scar.

Just to throw another thought out...

I am basically lazy about some things, and applying creams to avoid scars is one of them. As a result of not using anything on my pacemaker scars, [my pocket has been opened 4 times], my scars are not that noticeable. I can't say the same for my stretch marks from pregnancy though! LOL!
