Wish I had time to ask you all, my PM/ICD family to pray for me some 11 days ago; I had just undergone an emergency admission & operation to extract a recalled ICD lead and replace both lead and device. It was indeed a traumatic experience and a "shock" to me in both sense( shock from ICD & emotionally). I really couldn't believe that I had needed an operation so soon & so suddenly!
What happened was I had VT and Torsades and praise God that my ICD shocked me back to sinus rhythm. After a quick check and interrogation my EP decided that I had better remove the recalled lead cos another episode of VT or Torsade would be detrimental if the lead didn't work or gave problem. Hence the op was scheduled immediately and I was in hospital for almost a week. Time in the ICU was a most painful affair. As the post-op pain is now slowly subsiding and the trauma from this sudden episode is ebbing, I have found courage to come back to the Site to share my experience. I'm definitely on the mend, but my EP told me during my review yesterday that I'm still not too stable as there's tell tale signs on the ECG that I can still go into that life threatening torsades and monophorphic VT again. So I'm being monitored carefully for the meanwhile.
Pls may I ask that you pray for me that soon my cardiac rhythm will return to normal without complications? Many thanks. God bless you all. Bunnykin

You are for sure in my prayers. Look forward to hearing more updates on how you are doing. Get plenty of rest and relax as much as you can. Things will get easier... they always do some how.

Thanks Tammy,
Yes I agree that rest is really crucial as this is my 4th implant, every 2-3 yrs there's bound to be some problems that incur and require an extraction of lead and change in device. It is just too traumatic and bumpy road I think for some of us; Never had the opportunity to see the ICD get changed after 3rd year! How unfortunate. Thanks for your prayers. In need of prayers definitely...God is still good. Amen.

hi and thanks. I do appreciate your kind words and support. Much rest is certainly required meanwhile to allow bruises at various sites to subside apart from the implant wound. It's been one huge unexpected week of nightmare for family and friends alike. Glad to have you folks here to "cling" on to whenever we're in need. Thanks and God bless you all. Bunnykin
