Should I Be Concerned?

I have been doing really well as far as my heart rate is concerned since my complete sinus node ablation in November. The ablation left me pacemaker dependant...I pace 100% in the atria.

The low setting on my pacer is 70 bpm. All through the night and this morning, my rate has been over 100 bmp. This has not happened since before my ablation. My resting rate is ALWAYS 70 because of the pacer!

I am having constant, dull chest pain. My heart beat feels very forceful, and I can hear it in my ears.

I called my doctors office this morning, but my doctor is on vacation. The nurse told me to go to the ER if my rate gets any faster or if the pain gets worse.

I'm not sure what is going on, but I am a little worried.

Hi Amanda,

Sorry to hear you're going thru a rough patch.

As I always say...go to the ER for safety and peace of mind.

I hate going to the ER too (although I spent from 4:45pm yesterday to 2:15am today there myself...long story) BUT that is what they are there for. I too go back and forth in my mind, should I go? should I stay home? All those hours wasted bickering with myself when those hours could have been used for the long wait times.

Go, you'll feel better in the long run.

I empathize for you

I feel the same way, and no one knows what is wrong. I have been bothering the "authoritites" for over 8 months now!!! It's frustrating... Just keep bothering them; it might work on your doc! :)

I hope you went to the ER

Amanda,
I hope you decided to go into the ER and get those adjustments needed. I wonder if it could be pmt(pacemaker mediated tachycardia). I am thinking with a complete SA Node removal that is a huge possibility I get it often.
I also wonder if your sensitivity settings I don't know the technical term are set higher so it can raise while you exercise. That was my other problem this last time. So they had to lower how high my heart rate could go from 160 to 120. I would ask questions Amanda and try to get some answers b/c you should not have to be in so much pain.
I am praying for you my sister. Talk to you soon. Call anytime. Love ya girl!

Tammy
