PM beeping?

Has anyone ever heard of a PM making a beeping noise? I always thought it was just an ICD that beeped but the other day I could have sworn I heard a faint beeping noise. It was very quiet in the house at the time I heard it and I couldn't find anything else that it could have been. It sounded like it was right there under my nose, if you know what I mean. I don't want to call my clinic with this question, I'm afraid they will think I am crazy if I am wrong, you know?

I believe I have the same model as you (Guidant Insignia I Ultra (model 1290), installed on Nov. 21/07). While sitting at Christmas dinner, I heard 3 very quiet beeps in a row. Both my brother and I thought the beeps were coming from me. Last week I was at the pacemaker clinic (4th visit) and I asked the technician about this. She said the sound could not have come from my pacemaker but I am not sure I believe her.

Since you have the same model, I have a question for you. The day after my 3rd visit to the clinic on January 2nd, I started setting off the anti-theft devices in all of the stores I have visited since that are equipped with these devices. Have you had this problem? I also asked the technician about this last week and she stated this could not have been caused by any adjustment she had made to my pacemaker. I am having trouble believing this, too.

In two weeks I have an appointment in the clinic of a large teaching hospital. It will be interesting to learn this doctor's response to the beeping and the setting off of the anti-theft alarms. I'll let you know what I find out.
