WPW

You'll can look it up and see a lot of information on it. It's just that since it has come back and I have had ablation done on my AV Node and now have complete heart block, it HAS to be going in through another entryway. I am utterly confused by all this, you'll. Would you'll please read up on it and see what you can find? Thanks.

Doctor's comment

Yeah, Frank, he told me that the other EP had ablated my heart's normal pacemaker hoping to cure my WPW and it did seem to at first but after just a few years the symptoms have come back. So what this 'new' EP is telling me is that the 'other' EP must not have gotten it the first time :[ This makes me sad...since now I have a pacemaker for his mistake. He told me that he is going to have to punch through to get to the other side and see if he can find the extra pathway there and what other damage is in there. He said that he would discuss his findings with me and my husband and let us know if he can or cannot help me. He said that he would go back in after discussing it with us and ablate or try to fix the problem areas if he can. This EP is supposed to be a 'top of the line' doctor that my cardio sent me to. I am simply scared too death that he won't be able to fix it and I will have to be on this medicine that he put me on for the rest of my life (and it don't work real well either). Thanks for listening.

Alternate entryway

by ElectricFrank - 2008-12-31 12:12:15

I did a few searches on WPW, but am certainly not an expert on it. From what I read the alternate pathway is in an area they call the Bundle of Kent. The usual route is the Bundle of His. What I couldn't find what the location of the Bundle of Kent. This is important because the AV node ablation would have cut the Bundle of His, but if it left the Bundle of Ken the problem would remain. It may be that you will need another ablation to try to get the alternate pathway.

I wouldn't worry about the the complete AV block. The pacer can handle this very well if it doesn't have to contend with the signals going around it.

Maybe Kent and His are fighting over your affections!!

good luck and I hope the new year brings a solution.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
