battery lasted less than 2 years

Haven't posted in a while because my rhythym problems were "cured" by an av node ablation last year. I've been doing great ever since (at least on the pacemaker side - my CHF is another issue)

At my PM check a couple of weeks ago the tech asked me why one of the leads was turned up so high. Turns out nobody knows why, but it's been that way since January (when I had a right heart cath- which shouldn't have impacted my pm). She turned it back down and hoped that the battery would recharge itself a bit.

No such luck! My alarm went off this morning, which isn't exactly what you want happening at work on a daily basis - Is that someone's cell phone - No, it's just my heart. I feel like such a freak! So, the battery is shot and it's only 21 months old. Sounds like I'll be going in for a replacement in the next few weeks. I am so frustrated. I need the "oops we made a mistake and zapped your whole battery discount" on this procedure!!!

Thanks for letting me vent!
Cindy

The same thing happened to me. I had my surgery in Jan where out of the blue my pm stopped working on me. It was the worse feeling ever when you are dependent on the thing. It took me a while to decide to fight the bills that I have. I meet with a lawyer on Fri. I suggest that you contact one also instead of prolonging the wait.
I wish you luck and will be thinking of you.

You and I are indeed twins, I think.
It seems like your middle name is Murphy's Law as well. You know if it COULD happen, it WILL happen to us.
Bless your heart. I was just in Atlanta because of rhythm problems. Are you still going to Emory?

I think of you often, and I'm sorry your battery's dying. We just keep on keeping on, don't we? Like little engines that could, and Energizer Bunnie's that refuse to quit, well except our pacer batteries......LOL. Pretty soon, they'll come up with a pacer that you just plug in for recharges after so many years. LOL. Now that'll be the day. I'm still shootin' for a day without feeling like someone's using my breastbone for a trampoline.....

Keep us posted sweetheart,
Angelie
