replacement at 90 year olds

My father age 90 is about to have a replacement after seven years. He is very healthy active man, no major problems.
His doctors seem to have no concerns about doing this at his age, I am very anxious to say the least. Is their anyone who has had a replacement near or at this age, I would very much like to hear from you.

PM Replacement

Hello Barbera,

I'm 11 years younger than your father and haven't had my PM replaced yet, but my 89 years old neighbor did earlier this year. In face she had two replacements this year. The battery played out in the first one and the replacement for it was recalled 3 months after she got it, so she got another one. To add to her problems she was taking chemo when the faulty one had to be replaced.

Mrs. Bolen has weathered all of this extremely well. In fact the PM replacements were little more than an inconvenience for a few days to her.

I wish your father the best.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
