curious about something....

hi everyone! can someone please tell me what do you feel or what are the symptoms if one of your leads has come loose or has come off completely?

i'm just curious (and slightly paranoid) because for the past few days i have been getting like a slight fluttery feeling every now and then. it's really quick and doesn't make me feel crappy or anything but it happens often enough to be annoying and to worry me just a little bit.

MY GUESS is that what you feel are short runs of arrhythmia such as A-Fib, or V-Tach. I can't visualize how you would feel anything if the lead was broken or disconnected. If it were me that had such thought about one of my leads, I would do a manual check of my heart rate. If I found one consistently below the low set point on my PM I would suspect something was wrong with the PM/leads and ask for a PM checkup. The PM records a considerable amount of data about the heart function. When that is downloaded any problem can be seen or if a lead is not in good working order that will also be easily determined.

I don't know of anyway a person can confirm they have a defective lead without having a checkup. Maybe some of the others here can offer a good way to do a self check for a bad lead.
