Digoxin

Hello MMM,

Took digoxin of a couple of years when the Dr said stop. Just like that I quit.

I later have found out digoxion is sort of a two-headed mule. It can stop arrhythmia or it can start arrhythmia. It was given to me to help control arrhythmia which it did very well for some amount of time . However, I had gone back to having arrhythmia and the reason the Dr. stopped was he knew that digoxin could cause it so he stopped. Didn't make any difference one way or the other.

While I certainly am not predicting stopping it will cause you to have arrhythmia, I just wanted you may want to be aware of that possibility just so you can tell the Dr in case.

Good luck,

Smitty

I took digoxion for a few years back in the middle 90's for arrhythmia. I took both digoxion and a small dose of inderal that was fairly effective for a while.

The Dr. switched me to something else with no problems.

Of couse I eventually had to get a pacemaker because none of the drugs were working.

Digoxin

Hi mnm61275,
I was on digoxin for about two weeks after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure. It did not do much while I was taking it and the doctor told me to discontinue taking it once the Lasix had cleared the excess liquid in my system, before my PM implant.
I felt absolutely no difference.
I don't think there is anything to worry about.

All of the best,
Brian.
