does anyone know if it is possible to have a breast reduction/lift w/ a pacemaker? i can't find any info online, so i thought i'd ask here...thanks! i have a Medtronic Enpulse DR PM for 3rd degree heart block... haven't used the PM since i got it basically 4 years ago when i was pregnant w/ my son...Drs. don't want to remove it even though i'm 100% sensed (on my own, not using PM) since 5/2004 (got PM in 2/2004). go figure, huh? also, it is preventing me from getting health insurance. any thoughts on the breast reduction issue and a clue how i could get health insurance when i have a device i don't even need?!! thanks!

Breast lift with pacemaker

Gee maybe I can use the pacemaker as reason to get a breast lift! The weight of my breast creates some discomfort by pulling on my pacemaker scar - even after four months. Then again, I'm not willing to go through having general anesthesia unless it's absolutely necessary - oh well! Some people get health insurance by working for a company which offers insurance to all employees without regard for pre-existing conditions. In such cases you usually have the option of converting the group policy to an individual policy when you terminate employment. Don't know if that's an option for you or not.

Forget medical insurance! If you're not in a group through your job where the insurance company is forced to take you, you aren't getting any. I don't have any medical either and there is nothing us "uninsureds" can do.

I think that a lot of us suffer from not being able to get insurance. I am 22 and have filed for disability a couple times and have gotten denied I wouldn't have ever filed if I could afford my health care.
I called the main guy at the disability center and talked to him. He told me the only way that I would get insurance is by getting a job that can't turn anybody away. I asked him that was possible b/c the company I did have sent a note saying they didn't have to give me health insurance anymore. He explained that if the company your looking at does not look at pre-existing conditions then you qualify.
He also told me that he was going to look some for me b/c there are some companies that cost a lot more for health insurance but don't look at pre-existing conditions also. He has not gotten back to me yet.
On the breast reduction I know nothing on the topic and would also love to know the answer to that question. Before my heart problem I was looking into one but they cost so much money.
I wish you luck and will keep you in my thoughts.

Blessings,
Tammy

Chiropracter for Breast Lift?

I wouldn.t go near a Chiropractor. They are neither trained or permitted to perform any surgery. The only medical specialty on your list that is trained to do a breast reduction/lift is a plastic surgeon. But be careful. Any M.D. quack can advertise that he does plastic surgery. Find one who is "Board Certified" by The American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, (unless you live outside the U.S.)

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
