Headaches & woozy...

Well, right after my implant (3+ weeks ago) I started having mild frontal headaches every day that just didn't seem to go away. I have had slight nausea most days ever since. Neither symptoms were going on before my PM. The headaches are beginning to subside, and so is the nausea somewhat. I think it is just part of my getting used to a PM and all the changes. I also haven't slept well and believe the headaches could be from lack of sleep. My EP doctor didn't do anything. My GP thinks I am just anxious and precribed Ativan. It helps some but not with the headaches or nausea.

However, with that said, it sounds like your symptoms are different. You didn't have the feelings until recently. Did your doctor change any settings shortly before your started these symptoms? Have you been around others with the flu or anything?

I hope you feel better soon. I am afraid I don't have an answer for you, but it isn't a fun feeling! If it doesn't go away, call your doc and insist on being seen! They should all take good care of us with PM's we are "bread and butter accounts!"

Virus

There was an article in our local paper about non flu type viruses causing a range of symptoms. Interestingly the doctor interviewed didn't want to be identified , whichis typical. Unless there are "proper" studies to prove the existence of the virus, they apparently aren't supposed to admit to them. Reminds me of the Legionnaire's Disease a number of years ago. They had people dying, but "there was no evidence to suggest...".

Back around the first of the year I had problems with my pacemaker failing to stimulate my ventricles reliably and I was skipping as many as 4 heart beats in a row. This amounts to flatlining for about 4 seconds, not as bad as yours, but similar in nature. It took at least 6 weeks before I was over it. In the meantime the EP turned up the voltage on my ventricle lead to regain control.

After I got my pm I started getting dizzy feelings and after some time I was told I had V V S by my EP. he did raise the lower setting of my pm from 55 to 70 and told me to stay well hydrated. He said in time the dizzy spells would be fewer and further between. Guess what? He was right on the money. Even though I still get them it is not nearly as often. I swear the EP knows so much more then the cardiologist, go see one!

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
