Lightning Storm

Can anyone tell me what a lightning storm can do to a place maker? I was just in one and almost blacked out. Could it be from the storm? I had my pacemaker checked just two day ago and tthey said all was well??

Hair on end

That one scares me. I know too much about electricity to be calm in that situation.

Years ago I consulted with a local radio station in Idaho and would get a call in the middle of the night to go out to the transmitter and reset things after a lightning strike. One night as I was coming out of the building to my car and had that feeling. I looked up at the tower and all the guy wires and tower were glowing blue. I dove for the door just as a bolt hit the tower. Too close!

lightning

I live in Fl, where we have more deaths annually from lightning strikes than anywhere else in the US. We get daily storms all summer. Yesterday we had one strong enough and close enough that the house shook and the hair was standing up on my arms. Not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. Pm is fine! I'm with Frank, it was probably anxiety.

I suspect the near black out was from anxiety rather than any direct effect on the pacer.

The risk of being in a lightning storm, unless you are in a protected location, is far more that of being electrocuted than of affecting the pacer. I lived in Tucson, AZ for a number of years and almost every year several people were killed by lightning. Golfers and children playing outside in the rain were top candidates.
