Off Topic...

Thanks for the responses to my earlier post regarding my pacemaker checkup.

Yep, I have my blood work done once a month and nothing is outta the ordinary according to the doctors.

I even have all the copies. There are a few things a bit out of range, but my family doctor said they aren't far enough out to be of any concern.

Remember I was telling everyone how wonderful my stomach was after losing so much weight and now I can eat everything and anything; well, since my Endoscope and Colonoscopy almost 2 weeks ago, you guessed it: my guts are right back to where they were before and I can't hold anything in and am in a lot of pain. I'm wondering if I caught a bug or an infection from the colonoscopy as that is what they went over with me: the 2 risks being bleeding and/or infection, and of course, they tell you to go to the ER if this happens. Who knows, I may have even caught MRSA or C-Diff. I was also in another hospital visiting my grand aunt who has MRSA, so?????

So, for the past 3 days I've been contemplating on going to the ER. Who in their right mind wants to wait for 12-16 hrs to be seen by a doctor who in the end tells you that this is an emergency room and I'm not going to die, so go see your family doctor!!!!!!!!! what a vivious circle. So........I don't know what I'm going to do. I cannot afford to lose any more weight and I don't know how much longer I'm willing to sit home and hope that I get better just with time. And it's the long weekend here in Canada (Thanksgiving) so there is very limited care at the hospital if needed.

Gawd, I wish I lived in the United States and could go to Urgent Care....we don't have that here. We only have walk in clinics which are just family doctors. Ugh.

But thanks for your responses about my heart check up and I'm keeping hope that that problem will be also solved in the near future. It's tough when you're going thru more than one ailment at a time!! :)

Maybe C-diff?

by lenora - 2009-10-10 02:10:07

C-difficile usually presents itself as watery diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramping, and sometimes tenderness to touch in the lower abdomen. If you've been hospitalized recently and been on antibiotics there's a good possibility that you could have c-diff.
The only way to know for sure is a culture. If that's positive, you'd probably need to be on Flagyl. Sorry, there's more to say about c-diff but not sure this is the best place!

Just a thought. Whenever I get "guts" problem I get those baby drops for thrush. It always seems to work for me. I am so sorry you are experiencing such difficulties. I thank God for the wonderful doc I have. Not that that is going to make you feel any better. Can you get treatment if you go and stay with your sister. Are Canadians entitled to be treated in the States?

You are in my thoughts all the time.

Take care and hang in there. Tons of love and hugs Billie

Just found them in the frig. Nilstat Oral Drops. My "gut" standby. Available at a chemist near you.!

the thing is i went to e.r. and got the wrong drugs, my family dr. took off for a month and they tell me to go to e.r. so i finally after 5 weeks am on losec for my guts. nystatin for my yeast infection in my throat so i had severe laryngitis. from advair inhalor and finally talking but still hoarse. it is a vicious circle here too but at least the dr. i got last time booked me for a scope and put me on the right meds. look at your tongue. any white patches? i am not a dr. i would like to know more from lenora tho but privately . if you wanted to come here i could take you to university hospital and maybe they would admit you. it is about 2 hours away in london. go with lenora 's suggestion first about the swab. this is getting crazy. hugs thoughts. don't give up hon jessie
